Bird Mural for the National Audubon Society

I painted this bird mural in September 2023. The mural is showing an Eastern Black Rail, an endangered bird species.

In September 2023, I painted a bird mural depicting the Eastern Black Rail, an endangered bird species.

The mural was commissioned by the National Audubon Society in partnership with the Endangered Species Coalition and Friends of the Park at LeDroit to mark the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act.

An Eastern Black Rail is a secretive marsh bird that lives along the Mid-Atlantic Coast and whose fragile populations are protected by the Act.

A 12-foot tall, 16-foot wide mural is painted on the wall of a row house facing the Park at LeDroit.

I am painting the mural.

My daughters and our dog are joyfully celebrating the completion of the mural painting.
